Desire + Direction = Destination

With Desire emerges Direction (Divine Order), which leads to our Destination

Judges 6

Gideon = Heb. Gada’ = means to hewn or cut down; his destiny was hidden. But God revealed the meaning behind Gideon's name. In Hebrew, it means "to hewn down and cut down the enemy." God saw him as a leader, who may be willing to organize an army to defend the land and resist the attackers. His name: actually meant “to cut down to size.” Do you know the meaning of your name? God has built into your name, His Desire for your BEST! He offers His Direction through His Torah, teaching instructions, and through His complete Word. And together as God leads and reveals to us what we can complete as an assignment on earth in our life, we can step into our Destiny as a living miracle of God's Greatness!

Vs. 1 Israelites did evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord gave them over to the hand of the Midianites for 7 years.

Vs. 4 Midianites encamped around them like locusts as far as Gaza

Midianites destroyed the produce of the land

Midianites raided harvest during harvest time.

Vs. 7-8 Israelites cried out to the Lord + the Lord sent a Prophet

Vs. 9 I AM the Lord who brought you out of Egypt, who oppressed you and gave you their land.

Vs.10 I AM the Lord your God, you shall not give honor to the gods of the Amorites (nay sayers)…You have not given heed to My Voice.

Israelites did NOT REMEMBER.

Maybe we do not remember to trust GOD too!

Vs 11 Angel of the Lord rested under an Oak tree, which belonged to Joash (fire of Yahweh), Gideon’s father. Gideon was threshing wheat and hiding it from the Amorites.

Vs.12 Angel of the Lord appeared to him…and said, the Lord is with you, Mighty man of valor.

Vs 13 But,…IF the Lord is with us, why is all this happening? Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?

He REMEMBERED what God has done

Vs. 14-15 Lord said, “ Go and deliver Israel from the hand of the Midianites... Gideon asked, how when he is the weakest (poor) and least (felt he was from the wrong tribe, Manesseh, I will cause you to forget). How do we see ourselves? How does God see us? What is our excuse? What does being poor have to do with organizing an army?

I’m certain he thought to himself:

…if I was born in the right family, at the right time, with right connections, and in the right place, I could actually accomplish something like this! God wanted him to KNOW and to EXPERIENCE the impossible to become the possible with GOD!

Vs. 16 The Lord said He would be with him, and you shall strike down every last one of them.

Vs. 17 IF I have found favor with you, then show me a sign.

Vs. 18 Do NOT depart from me until I bring you a present and set it before you. The Lord said He would stay.

What present would you be willing to bring and set before the Lord?

Vs. 19-21 Gideon went back to his house, prepared a kid (goat), unleavened cakes and broth. God asked him to place it on the rock and pour out the broth. Fire sprang up and arose from the rock and consumed it and then the Lord left.

Vs. 22 Gideon perceived it was the Angel of the Lord… and asked for help! He perceived he came face to face with God…panim el panim

Vs. 23 PEACE be to you, do not fear, you will not die

Vs. 24 Then Gideon built an altar there…and called it, the Lord is Peace, Jehovah Shalom. It still stands there today which belongs to the Abiezrites.

Because of Gideon’s obedience, remembering what God has done and love toward God, He found favor. He also witnessed the Lord redeeming the land FOREVER!!!

Vs. 25-26 That night the Lord asked him to build another altar but an altar which belonged to his father and to cut down the Asherah pole beside it.

Vs. 27 Gideon took 10 of his servants but he did it at night because of fear!

Vs. 28-29 the next day the townspeople asked who had done this?

Vs. 30 They asked Joash to bring out his son to kill him

Vs. 31 But Joash asked, “Who will contend for Baal?”

Vs. 32 Gideon was named: Jerubbabel, Let Baal contend against him!

Note the Israelites did not support Gideon and let him only contend against Baal?

Vs. 33 So Amalekites (Amalek = grandson of Esau, dweller in a valley), Midianites (a spirit of poverty), and people of the east encamped in the area.

What was Gideon’s motivation and defeat of the enemy?

Vs. 34 But the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, he blew the trumpet, and the Abiezrites (means father of help) were called out to follow him.

You are not what the critics say you are, but rather…

YOU ARE who God says you are!

There is a natural DNA and there is a GOD DNA in the Holy Spirit!

The last four verses speak of the fleece test Gideon did with God.

These days, what does it take for you and I to recognize we are called out to follow God and defeat an enemy?

“People Walking The Streets As A Lifestyle” was something I saw in the Spirit of God and He revealed it to me. It is all about taking back the neighbors lives, their destiny and their land from drug dealers, etc. It is my heart to get the word out and to watch God mobilize the people, mainly for believers to take the time to walk their own streets.

We as people can take time to trust the Lord.

We as people can take the time to walk their own street and watch what God will do!

If GOD asks you to do something like:

a. Build an altar (God's way)

b. Bring a present to GOD or cut down an Asherah pole

c. Then let's hope to respond well on earth as it is in heaven, just as Gideon did!

Maybe your name and destiny does not mean or require you "to cut down to size" like Gideon's name, but we can choose to work together in Him to further His Kingdom!

We can seal this prayer in His Spirit for a 1.000 generations of seed and watch our hearts and love for our land be redeemed by God!
